Classroom Supplies
The Foundation provides funds to each of our teachers so that they can buy specialized supplies for their classrooms or for their curriculum.
Some of the items that our teachers have purchased are specialized seating for reading nooks, special books for projects, and fun educational games.

Field Trips
The Foundation provides funds for all of our students to go on field trips and we also pay for any admission fees that are charged for field trips.
We want our students to be able to go anywhere that the teachers feel would be beneficial for their education and if it is related to the curriculum.

Fitness Enrichment Program
We are so excited to announce our new Fitness Enrichment Program. Children thrive when they are exposed to new experiences. They gain confidence when they remain more active and are getting stronger. We want all of our students to have the opportunity to experience specialized sports and fitness activities.
We have developed a program that will encompass our Soccer League for 4th through 6th graders, our Karate classes, Track & Field, plus more to come.
All classes will be held on campus to accommodate everyone’s schedules and transportations needs. Fees will be waived for all classes for all Harding students. Donations are always accepted.

Academic Enrichment
The Foundation firmly believes in education in different forms, and one of our areas of focus is our Garden. Santa Barbara Unified School District pays for each elementary school in the district to have 10 hours a week of instruction in gardens, staffed through Explore Ecology. The Foundation supplements with additional funds for a full time staff member to be on Harding’s campus. We are the only elementary school in the district who has a full time garden instructor.
We have seen some amazing experiences that our students have getting their hands dirty, learning how to grow plants, how to harvest and how to cook with them.
We also supply funds for materials and equipment. We have kept up our garden beds, installed outdoor washing basins, purchased a solar oven just to name a few.

Family Fund
Our families and students make up our Harding Family. We want to support and provide any available resources to our families if they are in need of assistance.
We work very closely with our Principal, Vice Principal and our Family Liaison to help facilitate the resources that are available to us through the connections at the District and from our community. When all of those options are exhausted, the Foundation will step in and assist with things like utilities, rent payments, funeral expenses, clothing, etc.

Afterschool
We know that our mothers, fathers and caretakers work hard while our students are at school. We also know that it can be difficult at times to leave work to pick up children from school.
We also want to provide classes for all of our students, to help experience new hobbies and skills.
We started our Afterschool Program to help with all of that, free of charge to all of our families. We gladly accept donations for the funding of these classes and the staff that it takes to put them on, but we do not require any payment for children to attend.
